Our brewery adventure started with a phone call back in 2012 between two best mates living at opposite ends of Victoria. Alec had moved to the country and, having just completed an owner built house, was ready to tackle another mammoth project, Tim was honing his brewing skills, living and working on the Mornington Peninsula, dreaming of running his own show. They both loved beer. They got to thinking and before long, Alec and his partner Chris had lured Tim and his wife Jen to the beautiful Mitta Valley for a peaceful country life and a new project to combine all their wide ranging & varied skills.
And so Mitta Mitta Brewing Co was born .
Fast forward to 2018 and after years of hard work we had finally brought our independently owned brewery to fruition.
Funded entirely by our generous families, our own savings, and also by our 2017 crowdfunding campaign, the four of us (Tim & Jen and Alec & Chris) have hand built every stage of the project, from a paddock to a completed brewery.
Tim brews a great selection of beers, with 3 core and several seasonal brews on offer, both on tap and in cans, available at the bar.
We grow our own hops onsite in Mitta Mitta without the use of chemicals, and source our malt from Voyager Craft Malt, a local single origin, small batch, craft malt house. The yeast for our beers comes from Mogwai Labs in Port Kembla NSW. These elements, along with water sourced from the property are brought together to craft our beer range.
We are open Friday to Sunday for beer, tasty food, and wood-fired pizzas.
